Forged from high-speed steel， a material that is also used to make high-quality power saw blades and drill bits and has a high level of strength and hardness， as well as being resistant to hardwood， making it an excellent material for woodcarving tools. This tool features a short， gourd-shaped walnut wood handle that fits comfortably in your palm and is easy to use. The handle has a ferrule at the end to protect it from breaking and to retain the shank in place. With a 12mm wide blade and an exceptionally shallow cutting edge， this tool is ideal for completing flat surfaces， such as levelling the backgrounds of relief carvings. This tool may be utilised with one hand and can endure repeated strikes from a hammer.
