This special wood carving tool has a bevel that can be found inside the curve instead of the standard U gouge with an outside bevel. Made by Michihamono， this tool is forged from high-speed steel that is heat-treated and displays a high level of hardness and abrasion resistance. The blade is guaranteed to be sharp and can be used right after you remove it from the packaging. It also keeps its sharpness for an extended period and can be re-sharpened easily when the blade gets dull. The tang is inserted in a gourd-shaped handle made from walnut wood， that fits in your hand and can be easily applied with force. A tang is added to keep the blade from splitting and also to withstand the blows of a hammer. This wood carving tool is useful for shaping your wood where hollow or internal curves are required. It can also be used for paring wood with greater control than normal U gouges as it does not need to be used at an angle to produce a smooth surface. Available in 18mm and 6mm sizes to carve wood in different widths (sold separately).
