Description
This high quality, mid-size, straight chisel with a very shallow cutting edge is made by Michihamono from Japan. Forged from high-quality blue paper (Aogami No. 2), which is the same steel used in Japanese swords, so it does not chip or wear-out easily, is inserted in a Japanese cypress wood handle that is ergonomically designed and comfortable to work with, this tool can be used over the surface of the wood to produce polished, shallow facets. It can also be used for shaping wood sculptures, after initial roughing out is made, to bring out detailed parts of your works. This tool can create cuts into the wood surface without producing a ragged surface because of its slightly curved cutting edge, making it more suitable to use than a flat chisel. Edges and small corners of wood can be easily flattened and smooth out with this tool's 7.5mm wide cutting edge, such as in cutting away backgrounds.
